Radiometrics Midwest Corporation provides CISPR 11 and EN 55011 emissions testing for industrial, scientific, medical and other electrical equipment covered by the standard at our A2LA-accredited EMC laboratory in Illinois.
CISPR 11 establishes limits and measurement methods for radio-frequency disturbances from equipment within its scope. EN 55011 is the corresponding European standard commonly encountered in European EMC compliance programs.
CISPR 11 / EN 55011 Testing Capabilities
Radiometrics performs CISPR 11 / EN 55011 emissions testing using the test methods, limits and equipment configurations applicable to the product being evaluated.

- Peripheral and support equipment configurations
- Pre-compliance testing
- Emissions troubleshooting and engineering support
CISPR 11 Equipment Classification
Correct classification is an important part of developing a CISPR 11 / EN 55011 test program.
The applicable requirements depend on factors including the equipment’s function, use of radio-frequency energy, intended environment and classification under the standard.
Radiometrics can review the product and its intended use with the manufacturer to help establish the appropriate test requirements before testing begins.
Radiated Emissions Testing
Radiated emissions measurements evaluate unwanted radio-frequency energy radiated from the equipment and associated cables.
The equipment under test is configured and operated in representative conditions while emissions are measured over the applicable frequency range using the limits, measurement distance, detector functions and test methods required by CISPR 11 / EN 55011.
Conducted Emissions Testing
Conducted emissions measurements evaluate radio-frequency disturbances coupled from the equipment onto applicable power connections.
The EUT is operated in representative modes while disturbances are measured using the appropriate measurement network, receiver and test configuration required by the applicable standard.
Class A and Class B Equipment
CISPR 11 includes equipment classifications that affect the emissions limits and test requirements applied to the product.
The correct classification depends on the equipment and its intended environment. Radiometrics can assist manufacturers in identifying the appropriate classification when developing the compliance test plan.
Pre-Compliance Testing and Troubleshooting
Radiometrics can perform pre-compliance emissions measurements before a formal compliance program to identify potential problems while design changes can still be made efficiently.
If excessive emissions are identified, our engineers can work with the manufacturer’s engineering team to characterize the frequencies, operating modes and configurations associated with the failure.
Where practical, changes involving filtering, shielding, grounding, cabling, power supplies or other potential emission sources can be evaluated during the test program.
Information Needed for a CISPR 11 / EN 55011 Quote
Please provide the following information when available:
- Product description and model number
- Applicable standard or customer specification
- Product dimensions
- AC or DC power requirements
- Intended use and operating environment
- Number and type of external cables and ports
- Required peripherals and support equipment
